About Us

The Fullerton Memorial Playground & Athletic Association was incorporated on April 18, 1961.  Our team name "The Ramblers" came from a reference to the Penn State Nittany Lions in their early years.  As the story goes, they would travel great distances to play their football games before their name was known.  They were referred to as the "Rambling Team."  Fullerton adopted the nickname "The Ramblers" as their own.

Our mission is to provide safe, instructional and structured sports programs for the youth of our community.  This is accomplished solely by volunteers from our community.

Our Football program has been very successful the past few years.  Some of our teams have gone to the league championships for the past (3) years.  Our 12 and Under Girls softball team won the league championship in 2006!

Unfortunately, we have been unable to maintain a basketball program in recent years and have had to steer the kids of our community to other surrounding community parks to play.

Our commitment to our community is evident in our "Fullerton Memorial Scholarship," our Annual Easter Egg Hunt, and other community support.

The organization presented Laura Christman with a check for $300.00 as the 2006 Fullerton Memorial Scholarship winner.  We wish her well in her pursuit of her education and career in the field of Criminal Justice.

In December of 2006, after receiving a request for donation to help a local teen faced with Leukemia and not responding to the usual chemotherapy, Fullerton Memorial Playground and it's members donated $1,150.00 to his fund to help get the treatments his family's insurance would not cover.

Following our 2007 Easter Egg Hunt, Tim Green, Vice President, on behalf of the Fullerton Memorial Playground and Athletic Association, delivered some of the extra Easter Baskets the organization received and made a donation to the pediatric unit at the Lehigh Valley Hospital Center.  This donation was well received by the patients in the unit making their otherwise unpleasant stay a little brighter.

We will continue to provide our sports programs for the youth of our community in preparation for high school sports.  We hope each child receives not only sports lessons, but life lessons.  As in any volunteer organization, we can never get enough help or donations for our fundraisers or projects.  If you or your company would like to donate time, funds, materials or anything else to help our organization, please contact our President.

We would like to recognize the local businesses that support our organization.  Please patronize them when you can.
